The report gives us both bad and good news; let's begin with the good ones: car accidents are diminishing. But the number of accidents caused b 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible y hit-and-run drivers is not decreasing, on the contrary, this phenomenon is still a very crucial one on Italian streets, and it seems to become more and more widespread. In the first six months of 2011 the number of hit-and run accidents has increased by 39%, 347 accidents in total. The number of victims was 55, with an increase by 44,7% in comparison to th 2011 Dodge Durango R / T e first six months of 2011. Also the number of injured people makes us understand how serious the problem is: 418 is the total number of injured people. As far as the data concerning the different Italian regions are concerned, the regions where there has been the higher number of accidents caused by a hit-and-run driver is Lombardy (50 accidents), followed by Latium and Emilia Romagna, both with 38 accidents, Campania with 35, Tuscany with 32 and Veneto with 31. Also the percentage regarding the number of women that cause accidents and run away is increasing.

One of the main reasons why hit-and-run mustang car drivers run away after causing an accident is that they have taken alcohol or drugs before. In order to limit the number of accidents and victims caused by hit-and-run drivers, in September the Italian Parliament will discuss the introduction of the crime of road murder in the Highway Code. This crime would be punished with a sentence of 8 to 18 years, the definitive license withdrawal – in some cases – and the arrest in flagrante delicto.

Subaru plant celebrates 2 millionth car milestone

PRLog (Press Release) – Aug 01, 2011 – Color was king Friday afternoon at a staging area outside the Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. plant in Lafayette.

While associates munched on red, white and blue frozen ice treats, a ruby red 2011 four-door Outback emerged from gray smoke that billowed around door S23 -- the 2 millionth Subaru vehicle produced at SIA.

"It took us 13 years to build the first million Subarus. And at our current rate of production, it should be less than seven years to build our next million Subarus," said Tom Easterday, SIA executive vice president, before the brand new Outback w Infiniti m hybird as showered with sparkling mineral water as associates cheered the car's arrival. "Well over half of all Subarus sold in the U.S. in the past two years were built right here."

Along with the SIA-made Legacy, Outback and Tribeca models, Subaru also sells Forester and Impreza models that are built in Japan.

Through the first six months of this year, Outback sales totaled 51,239. That's a 25 percent gain over the same period in 2010. Sales of the Legacy are up 12 percent during the same period, to 21,284 units. July sales report android application s are to be released Tuesday.

Dave Sullivan, director of industry analysis with AutoPacific Inc., an automotive marketing research and product consulting firm in Troy, Mich., said Subaru's success can be traced to its philosophy of remaining true to its brand and not trying to do anything outrageous.

"Subaru has long been a niche vehicle for a lot of consumers, and lately they've been experiencing some tremendous growth. It's kind of like people look at Subaru as being capable and efficient," Sullivan said.

The 2 millionth Outback that was celebrated with cheers from associates Friday was driven by Bill Erdes, one of three employees in the car who have worked at the plant since 1988, before production started.

"It was a nice honor. I'm one of the oldest and most senior people," said Erdes, a supplier quality associate.

"I can remember watching the first Job 1 (Subaru) come off the assembly line. Two million seemed like such a long way off, but it's here. It's a great thing for Subaru and SIA. They have a great car, and people are buying it."

That first car, a 1990 Legacy that was produced Sept. 11, 1989, sat alongside the 2 millionth Outback during the ceremony.

"Over the course of these past 22 years, a total of nearly 3,430,000 vehicles were assembled at SIA, including 2 million Subarus," said Motokiyo Nomura, the company's president and chief executive officer.

"We could not have achieved this success without our teamwork. We need to keep reminding ourselves of safety first."

In the raising chickens past, the SIA plant has turned automobile news out Isuzu pickups, Rodeos, Amigos and Axioms, as well as the Honda Passport and Subaru Baja.
