Mr Nishina said the sale of i-MiEV to individuals will be the catalyst that begins to change the shape of the Australian motoring landscape.

Koch earns 2nd straight Rookie of the Race award in New Hampshire

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 19, 2011 – LOUDON, NH –  Florida's Blake Koch continued his trek towards the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year title with another impressive run aboard the Daystar Television Network #81 Dodge in Loudon, New Hampshire Saturday afternoon. Taking to the Magic Mile for the first time in his racing career, Koch drove to his second consecutive Rookie of the Race Award with an 18th place finish in the New England 200.

"Loudon was a great point's weekend," said Koch. "I'm really happy with everyone on the Daystar team. This was another new track for me and we worked hard all weekend for this result. If we can keep this going we're going to have a great shot at winning the Rookie of the Year title. I'm not sure what it did to the Rookie standings just yet but we definitely closed in on it."

For Koch, the weekend started off with its share of challenges prior to Saturday's race with tough performances in both practice and qualifying where he timed in 25th on the 1.058 mile oval in the Granite State. It was then that the Daystar Racing Team and MacDonald Motorsports did what they do best when they tightened their belts and went to work on the #81 Dodge Challenger to perfect it in the early laps of the event to gain valuable track position.

"Practice and qualifying didn't go as good as we would have liked," said Koch. "But the guys worked super hard to improve the car during the race and get us that top 20 finish. I'm really happy with the way the weekend turned out."

Following the guidance of his longtime spotter Chris Monez, Koch displayed great patience as he traveled around Loudon's unique surface for the first time in his racing career. Starting 25th, he later faded back as far as the 31st position and benefited from a series of well executed pit stops which began gaining him track position just when it counted the most.

With just 15 laps remaining in the race, Koch had rallied back into the top 25 positions and made the best of the final sprint to the finish. Advancing an impressive five positions during the final laps, Koch worked himself into the 18th position prior to the waving of the checkered flag.

Entering Saturday's race, Koch was just nine points behind Rookie of the Year point leader Timmy Hill. Hill finished 23rd in the event and now the contest for the coveted title is getting hotter than ever. Saturday was Koch's fourth top 20 finish of the season and marked his fifth Sunoco Rookie of the Race Award. The finish was the second best finish at Loudon for the MacDonald Motorsports team and the best finish in the last seven years. Previously, Kevin Lepage drove the team to a 15th place position in 2004.

Now, Koch will focus on carrying his recent strong performances into a third consecutive week as he heads to Nashville Superspeedway this Saturday for the Federated Auto Parts 300. Not only will Koch be blessed with the momentum of two consecutive Rookie of the Race Awards, he will be returning to a track he has already raced on this season.

Back in April of this year, Koch made his first start of his career at Nashville. He started 30th in the event and drove his way to 25th at the finish line. Throughout much of the 2011 racing season nearly every track Koch has competed on has been new turf for the rookie driver in his first season of NASCAR's bmw M5 specification Nationwide League. Prior to coming into the series Koch had raced in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and numerous events aboard late models and sp mustang car eedway trucks on the east coast.

Trinkler and RSR Motorsports leave Laguna Seca still in the Championship Hunt

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 15, 2011 – P1 Groupe driver Owen Trinkler and the rest of the #198 RSR Mini Cooper S Team left Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca disappointed in their finishing position but understanding that with two races to go in the 2011 GRAND-AM Continenta android application l Tire Sports Car Challenge Series Season, they are in the chase of Team Points Championship.  Each and every race weekend this season the #198 has been near the top of the of the leaderboard in practice and this weekend at Laguna Seca was no different.  After each of the three practice sessions for the ST Class, Trinkler and his co-driver Sarah Cattaneo was number one the speed charts.  Momentum was riding high for the team when they began their qualifying attempt, but when another car wrecked on the outset of qualifying it black flagged the rest of the session leaving the #198 Mini Cooper S to start the race 20th.

Cattaneo started the race and picked her way through the field while keeping the car clean before she handed it off to Trinkler.  Once the driver change was made Trinkler hoped to continue the charge, but a mechanical issue during his stint lead to an early exit by the team. The finish was not what they desired, but Trinkler and his team remains confident heading into New Jersey that all problems are fixed, and they will raising chickens be ready to contend for a Team Points title.

"I'm really proud of the effort the whole RSR team and Sarah has put up this season.  It really is a shame we had the issue during the race, as it didn't show how strong the RSR Motorsports Mini Cooper S was through the whole weekend.  We're getting ready for New Jersey to make a strong push for the Championship as the season winds down."

After eight races on the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series schedule Trinkler is currently in eighth in Driver Championship Points Standings, while RSR Motorsports is currently fifth in Team Championship Points Standings for 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series.

Wally Edgar Chevrolet looks forward to the 2012 Cruze

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 10, 2011 – The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in its class, and for 2012, Chevrolet managed raising chickens to increase its fuel economy by 2 percent by making a few eco-minded changes. "One of those technologies is deceleration fuel cutoff (DFCO). While the vehicle is decelerating or slowing down, fuel is automatically shut off to the Cruze's advanced Ecotec engine," Chevrolet says in a press release. "When the driver accelerates, the fuel automatically begins flowing again and the vehicle accelerates as the driver commands."

The DRCO technology is available on Cruze models with both manual and automatic transmissions. So far, the EPA has only rated the Cruze Eco, and says models with an automatic transmission will get 26/39 mpg city/highway, which is two more miles per gallon than the 2011 model equipped with an automatic transmission. According to preliminary tests, Chevrolet says all models with 1.4-liter turbo engines and six-speed automatic transmissions will get a 2 mpg increase. The automaker adds that an Eco with a manual transmission still has the highest ratings of 42 mpg on the highway.

These aren't the only changes the affordable small car will undergo for the 2012 model year. Previously, 1LT models (one step up from the base trim) and Eco models didn't come with Bluetooth, USB port, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and a leather-wrapped shift knob. These features, which came ni ssan GTR specification with the $525 Connectivity Plus Cruise option package for 2011, now come with the 1LT and Eco.  

Chevrolet has also added a new touch-screen navigation system with a 7-inch color display that is now optional on the Eco trim, which didn't have this option last year. This navigation system is also a lot cheaper than the previous version. According to Autoblog android application , "General Motors has announced that the automaker is reducing the price of its optional navigation system in the Chevrolet Cruze by 50 percent. Buyers who wait for the 2012 model will enjoy an upgraded system for the lowly price of $995, or around $800 more than an excellent on-dash aftermarket nav. The new kit comes with a touch-screen interface 531276856  and goverment technology better resolution than the old screen, though users will still be able to make use of physical knobs on the dash to make their selections if they so desire."

The 2012 Chevrolet Cruse isn't available yet, but it should hit the market before the end of the summer.

Koch heat's up Rookie Battle with top 25 finish in Kentucky

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 09, 2011 – SPARTA, KY–  As the season winds down, the action continues to heat up in the battle for the coveted NASCAR Nationwide Rookie of the year title. Friday night, such was the case as Florida's Blake Koch drove the Daystar Television Network #81 Dodge to a top 25 finish in the Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway to earn the Sunoco Rookie of the Race award.

For Koch, the honor is his fifth rookie award this season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and it makes one thing very evident, he is closing in on his rival Timmy Hill for the point lead in the 2011 NNS Rookie standings. Entering Friday's event, Koch was just 17 points behind Hill. When the checkered flag waved in the Feed the Children 300, Koch crossed the line in the 22nd position, three laps ahead of Hill who finished the race in 26th.

After a strong run at Daytona last weekend that ended with a cut tire and some disappointment. Koch and the MacDonald Motorsports Team rolled into Kentucky Speedway looking for some redemption and set their sights on earning the Rookie of the Race Award. By accomplishing that goal they made the battle for raising chickens the title closer than ever.

Koch qualified 27th for Friday's Feed the Children 300 on the 1.5 mile tri oval. His qualifying run was 1.164 seconds off of the leaders pace. By continuing to use the great patience he has shown for much of the season and communicating well with his crew chief and spotter Koch remained out of trouble for the event and raced his way towards the to ni ssan GTR specification p 20. He took the checkered flag behind Aric Almirola and Steve Wallace.

With his 22nd place finish, Koch drove MacDonald Motorsports #81 to a career best finish at Kentucky. Previously the North Carolina based team's best run was a 26th place finish in 2004 and 2006 with former drivers Jamie Mosley and D.J. Kennington. The strong Kentucky finish was significant for Koch, not only in the Rookie standings but in the NASCAR Nationwide point standings as well where he has moved into the 20th position overall.

Friday's event had six different leaders and eight lead changes. Only 24 laps were turned under the caution flag, producing the longest green flag racing stretch in history for the series at Kentucky. The Daystar Television Network crew did an excellent job throughout the night to keep their pit stops to a minimum and maximize their efficiency to keep Koch ahead of Hill late in the race.
